Aspects of the renovation will require some design changes

There’s an optimal order for your staged renovation

If you’re planning on renovating in stages, it’s best to renovate certain floors before others. This prevents issues with protecting certain areas of the house, such as the stairs between the main and top floor, during the renovation process. It’s for this reason that we recommend either renovating the basement or second floor first before moving to the main floor.

Ultimately, renovating from the bottom and top floor first will prevent any issues involving the protection of stairs, closet spaces, or banisters.

The idea that it costs less to renovate a house in stages is actually a misconception. In reality, the set-up and take down of all of the equipment in a staged renovation will add up, racking up the final bill.
