This bathroom renovation created a beautiful, fully accessible space for three sisters with varying mobility needs. Working within the existing footprint, we designed a barrier-free washroom that balances sophisticated style with universal design principles. The project required lowering the entire floor structure by two inches to achieve a seamless transition from the hallway's parquet flooring, a complex engineering solution that eliminated all physical barriers throughout the space.
Our design included a curbless shower with strategically placed controls near the entrance for caregiver assistance, a carefully selected bathtub that fit the compact space, and generous storage to accommodate all three users. Every finish reflected the sisters' request for glamour, from sparkling chrome fixtures to polished cover plates that add that special "bling" factor.
The result proves that accessible design doesn't mean sacrificing beauty. This bathroom functions as a dignified, independent space for two sisters with mobility challenges while creating a luxurious retreat all three can enjoy. It's evidence that thoughtful, universal design can be the most elegant solution of all.
